Baler is located at the heart of Aurora, and it is the capital of the said province. Baler is surrounded by mountains which made this paradise more serene and beautiful.
In Cubao, Genesis Transport has a terminal which offers air-conditioned buses with a direct route to Baler, Aurora. Daily trips run from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m (1 hour interval) and the travel time is around 6 to 7 hours. Bus fare: Php 420 (regular fare), Php 380 (student fare). Take note that deluxe buses (Joy Bus) cost more.
View at Pantabangan Dam Waterstop Road
When you reach this point, the Pantabangan Dam, the bus will cross a very narrow road, which is a waterstop. Lo, despite the scare this road might bring, hold your heart tight for the view here will melt all your aches away.
PLACES TO GO
Sabang Beach
Sabang beach is the main beach in Baler. It is famous for its huge waves, a great deal for surfers.
We came here twice and yet the place stayed wonderful. The waves, I admit, frightened me at first. But after my feet felt the crashing waves and the warmth of the sand, I realized that there's no need to be anxious. For a moment, I am comforted by the restlessness of the sea.
Museo De Baler
The museum is situated at the town proper, near the house of Aurora Quezon and Baler Church. Pay a visit here to see some artifacts during the time of Quezon.
What I love about this museum is that they made it tourist-friendly. You can take pictures here using some props from the museum (you can even hold an old gun).
Hanging Bridge
The bridge is a good shot of experience. A mixture of chills from its shaky structure, and awe from its breathtaking view. Grabe, ganda!
Ermita Hill
The statues in Ermita Hill is historical for they stand for the seven families who survived the tsunami that happened before. Ermita hill was called a hill on purpose. Here lies the staircase that leads to the top of the hill, for a bird's eye view perspective of Baler.
Ditumabo Falls
Ditumabo Falls is well-known as Mother falls. Maybe the reason why it was named Mother was because on the way to her, you will pass-through and witness some "baby" falls and rivers along the way.

One of the rivers we crossed on our way to Mother falls. Crossing these bamboo bridges have fees, it's only 15 pesos I guess? So no worries. Also, there is a fee for the entrance. I think it is for the maintenance of the falls. And I appreciate that the people in Baler are strict when it comes to protecting the nature. It is not allowed to bring any plastic or any food that would cause trash, even a candy is not allowed.
Our trek to Motherfalls was one of my many favorites in our whole journey in Baler. The adventure was fun and I got to experience different things. Despite the long and tiring walk, the happy moments were the ones that remained in our memories and hearts.
Millennium Tree
Yes, it was as creepy as it looked in picture. But it was a nice experience entering inside a tree.
Diguisit Falls
Diguisit falls is near the road, and as a tourist, you will not notice this falls. But I dare you (please), give this falls a hike. When you reached the top, it was just until then you would appreciate its beauty.
Baler Fish Port
The fish port is near Diguisit Beach, Diguisit falls and Ermita Hill. Have a stop here and take some pictures and be blown away by the panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Baler.
Diguisit Beach (Rock Formation)
Diguisit has a majestic rock formation and every pieces that made it whole is pure beauty. It is a real paradise. WOW!
Baler Public Market
If you're staying in Baler for more than 3 days and you have a place to cook, I suggest that you go straight to the market and buy your foods raw and cook it yourself for a cheaper deal. Seafoods are great here.
Overall, our Aurora adventure is fun and memorable. We had great yet cheap deals. We would definitely go back.
Note:
If you'll go on tour, it's better if you have an itinerary so your trip is sulit. Better contact a tricycle that offers a tour or negotiate for an ideal price. People in Baler are very kind, hospitable and they can be trusted, so no worries.
If you need a house to rent (for a group of 8 - 10) with stove, refrigerator, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a sala and dining set, ask and I can give you a contact. It is where we stayed for 3 days.
Feel free to comment and ask questions. Thanks for the read!
